fruitful receptions

How cute are fruit displays as centrepieces instead of flowers!! This idea seems to keep showing up in all different blogs and i think its a fab idea!! Firstly, it would be so much cheaper to replace flowers with fruit, secondly, there are so many different brightly coloured fruit to choose from, and thirdly, it really makes the table displays of an outdoor garden or farm wedding seem to fit in with the organic/natural theme.
Here are a few inspiring pictures that I love:

our engagement party

So on Saturday Jorge and I had our engagement party. After many prayers to keep the rain away, the weather was fine and we could enjoy a lot of the party outside. We had two sections to hang out at; upstairs in Jorge's home, which had lots of tables and chairs, and a section full of teapots and T2 teas for people to enjoy. And outside, downstairs was set up like a little pub kind of area. Jorge's brother had an outdoor kitchen set up (which was very popular) and a fire was set up once we figured there wasn't much sun down there.
Jorge and I really enjoyed the day and are so thankful to all the bridesmaids for cooking, Jorge's family for hosting and all the guests for coming!!

Here are a few photos, taken by one of Jorge's groomsmen, Shannon. Thanks Shan.

Veronica Sheaffer

I really love high neck dresses at the moment.
Veronica Sheaffer has just revealed her Autumn 2011 collection which is beautiful.

Peeing on your wedding day

Oh My! I just found this article on Project Wedding and thought i'd share it with you all, since its fairly hilarious, and quite cringe-worthy (since it may be me needing to use this method).

Check out the 'how to' in peeing with a big wedding dress on here.

decorations

There are so many different styles of decorations for the reception that I have fallen in love with after visiting a bazilion blogs. We are planning for an outdoor reception so a marquee is required, but from there we need to decide on the decorations.
Once you see all these ideas, how can anyone decide!? They are all fabulous!

engagement party

Its our engagement party tomorrow!! I am SO excited :)
It has come up so quickly though! I really hope the rest of the engagement/year flies by aswell!
At the moment, I am uploading photos of Jorge and I together and photos of us growing up for a slideshow which will hopefully play (if it works) in the lounge room tomorrow.

Here's a sneak peak of some of the photos:

Alfred Sung

Lately I have been thinking of styles of dresses which my 5 bridesmaids could wear.
Jorge and I have decided yellow is probably the colour we want, but style is up to me!
Alfred Sung has an amazing collection of dresses. I love the simplicity in the dresses, and the range of colours. I definitely think his dresses are a must try on for my girls!!

Collette Dinnigan 2011

I am in love with Collette Dinnigan's new bridal collection. The beading contrasting with the soft tulle skirts are almost magical.
My favourite would have to be:
 Diamonte Flowers Strapless Beaded Gown

In organising and planning my engagement party I found Rifle Paper Co. There designs are great! I love the loopy text and the colourful flowers. Invites (stationary) cannot get easier when these designers make it all for you! In the packages, you not only get wedding invites, but save the date cards, personalised envelopes, maps and more, all matching the custom design. SO cute!

A blog

I've decided that it is time for me to join the world of wedding bloggers. I have been admiring and searching through a range of creative and inspiring blogs and I think now I should put up my progress of ideas and inspiration.

Ive been engaged now for 2 months. My fiance is a babe and I cannot wait till we are married. In the meantime however, we have to plan a wedding.

So I guess this is going to be where I spend my time when procrastinating from uni work, and when I find incredible ideas for the wedding!
